Karawdeniya Nano-Sensing and Innovations Laboratory
I am a Research Fellow in the Research School of Physics at the Australian National University. I work in the crossroads of chemistry, physics, and engineering. I am passionate about developing sensing technologies to detect biomarkers of different health conditions. I am leading sensor development work at the Research School of Physics related to the Australian National University, Grand Challenge project 'Our Health in Our Hands' (OHIOH) since 2020. This sensor development work spans metasurface optical sensors, solid-state nanopore sensors, and nanowire optical/chemiresistive sensors.

Outreach and Mentoring
I am very excited about inspiring younger generations to pursue STEM education and sharing my experience. Providing support to marginalized and underrepresented groups in STEM is another topic I am passionate about. I participate in different outreach programs that intend to achieve this. Knowing the impact of passionate and excellent mentors in my career, I am also a strong believer in dedicating my time to mentor students.
